Software Engineer

Location: Enterprise, AL (Relocation Assistance is Available)

Summary:

Researches, designs, and develops computer software systems, in conjunction with
hardware product development, by performing the following duties.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Analyzes software requirements to determine feasibility of design within time and costconstraints.
  • Consults with hardware engineers and other engineering staff to evaluate interface between
  • Hardware and software, and operational and performance requirements of overall system.
  • Formulates and designs software system, using scientific analysis and mathematical models to
  • Predict and measure outcome and consequences of design.
  • Develops and directs software system testing procedures, programming, and documentation.
  • Consults with customer concerning maintenance of software system.
  • Coordinates installation of software system.

Education and/or Experience Required
Bachelor’s degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; and four to five years related
experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Computer Skills
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of the following computer languages: C, C++, Open GL, QT, Subversion. Should also have experience with a Linux operating system.

Mathematical Skills
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

Language Skills
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals,
technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business
correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond
to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

Reasoning Ability
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Other Qualifications
Must be able to travel 20% of the time.
