
Peel Airports Opt for WSI Airport Predictor
Birmingham, UK, 20th January, 2006 — WSI (Weather Services International) announced today that they will be supplying the WSI Airport Predictor product suite to Peel Airports. Under the agreement Peel Airports will have access to internet delivered, high accuracy, forecasting products such as fog risk, thunder risk and rain/snow forecasts.
WSI currently supports over 80 airports and aircraft operators in Europe. “Airports are increasingly realising the benefits of WSI Airport Predictor, enabling optimal decision making, accurate planning and minimising the impact of disruptive weather” says WSI Client Services Manager, Mark Stephens Row.
Peel Airports comprises of Liverpool John Lennon Airport, Durham Tees Valley, Robin Hood Airport Doncaster Sheffield and Sheffield City Airport. WSI Airport Predictor
WSI Airport Predictor offers regional forecast products that allow better visualisation of forecast rain, snow and fog events. Text-based forecast products are complemented by easy to understand and continuously updated map based forecasts. High resolution regional Radar and lightning products offer the ability to distinguish between rain and snow that is falling now as well as thunderstorms. Frequently updated graphical and tabular forecasts of temperature and dew point for the airport allow for operations to make timely and cost effective decisions.
