British Airways Chooses WSI Hubcast

Birmingham, UK, 12th July 2006: — WSI (Weather Services International) today announced that operations decision support tool WSI Hubcast will be adopted by British Airways. Developed in conjunction with the FAA, WSI Hubcast provides precise hour-by-hour forecasts of terminal weather conditions that impact airport acceptance rates and ground operations. The tool enables airlines and airport operators to make timely and cost effective decisions in the areas of runway anti-icing, terminal passenger management and operational safety and efficiency.

WSI Hubcast
WSI Hubcast is a new operations decision support tool for key hub airports. It provides detailed hour-by-hour forecasts of selected weather elements and enables accurate planning for disruption caused by fog, snow/ice, strong winds and thunderstorms. Customisable alert thresholds inform operators of deteriorating forecast weather and also provide insight into actual weather trends.
